Initially, the A350 deployed on this route features a comfortable 298-seat configuration, boasting 32 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats (a first for Gatwick!), and 238 Economy seats. From March 29, Emirates will upgrade to a 312-seat A350, offering a slightly different layout with 32 Business Class seats, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 259 Economy seats. "While Edinburgh was the first global destination to be serviced by the all-new A350 following its launch in January 2025, Gatwick is the first London airport to welcome the aircraft."
Al-Azeeby emphasized the profound importance of the UK and London to Emirates' global operations. According to Cirium data, the UK ranks as the carrier's second-largest market for flights, trailing only India. The UK's crucial role in providing passenger and freight connections is vital for the feasibility of many of Emirates' other routes. "The UK is one of Emirates' most important global markets, and London will continue to play a central role in our overall network. Gatwick is a key growth market for us. The launch of our fourth daily service marks a significant milestone, and gives customers the opportunity to experience our newest aircraft from London, including our premium economy cabin."
Emirates' Extensive UK Network
Emirates currently serves eight UK airports, a number surpassed only by the US (12) and India (nine). Their UK destinations include Birmingham (two daily A380/777-300ER), Edinburgh (daily A350-900), Gatwick (four daily A350-900/A380/777-300ER), Glasgow (daily A380, with speculation of a second daily service returning), Heathrow (six to seven daily A380/777-300ER), Manchester (three daily A380), Newcastle (daily 777-300ER), and Stansted (two daily 777-300ER).
