"We're expecting a challenging few days," said Director of Emergency Management Will Ray. "But with the entire State Emergency Response Team working together, we're confident we can support our communities."
State Transportation Secretary Daniel Johnson echoed this sentiment, urging North Carolinians to stay off the roads once the storm hits unless absolutely necessary. "Let's keep our roads clear for emergency responders," he added.

In addition to these measures, Attorney General Jeff Jackson has implemented the state's price gouging law. This law prohibits businesses from charging excessive prices during a state of emergency, ensuring that North Carolinians aren't taken advantage of during this challenging time.
"We won't tolerate businesses exploiting this situation," Jackson said. "Report any suspected price gouging, and we'll take action."
