The FTP2's unique design is a result of Van Risel's ambition to create a bike that defies conventional standards. Freed from the UCI's constraints, the FTP2 boasts a striking resemblance to a triathlon bike, specifically the Cervélo P5X. Its innovative features include a seatless design, a wide two-part fork, and a handmade carbon frame, all built to withstand the rigors of extreme speed.
Superhuman Engine
At the heart of the FTP2 is a 'superhuman engine' powered by a unique version of the Mahle M40 electric bike motor. This motor, initially designed for mountain biking, is tailored for tarmac use, multiplying the rider's input effort by four. The result? Speeds between 45 and 100 km/h, transforming the rider into a high-performance machine.
Integrated Ecosystem
Van Risel's concept extends beyond the bike itself. The FTP2 comes with a fully integrated ecosystem, including a specialized cockpit, shoes, helmet, and clothing. The cockpit, inspired by Formula One cars, centralizes control, featuring a Hammerhead bike computer and an integrated front light. The FTP2 shoe, with its aeroplane wing profile, becomes the pedal, ensuring smooth airflow.
Modular Design and Safety
The FTP2 aero helmet showcases Van Risel's modular design approach. It incorporates the X Clip Concept, where an aerodynamic shell clips onto the RCR-R road helmet, maintaining safety and comfort while providing exceptional air penetration performance.
